Oasys Tokyo HACKJAM Winners Spotlight

Singapore, August 10 — After the Oasys Tokyo HACKJAM 2023 came to a close, we are thrilled to congratulate the winners of the prizes. The judges had the difficult job of selecting from the remarkable and exciting submissions of over 50 innovative and creative products put forward by 53 teams.

Oasys’ first-even hackathon awarded $68,000 in prizes to 10 winners out of 16 finalists from a pool sponsored by Oasys and our partners Crypto Games, double jump.tokyo, DMM, MCH, Softbank, and Singularity. Tokyo HACKJAM 2023 ran during Japan Blockchain Week, bringing together talented teams to share innovative ideas and showcase prototypes for products built and deployed on Oasys Chain and its Verses.

Partnering with AKINDO, a renowned web3 hackathon platform known for hosting Japan’s largest web3 hackathon, the Oasys TOKYO HACKJAM attracted many talented game and Web3 developers. We are honoured by the number of applications and the interest in deploying products on Oasys Chain and our connected Verses.

The panel of judges included major companies that serve as validators on Oasys chain. Notable participants included Softbank and KDDI joining in evaluating the submissions and determining the winners.

“The Tokyo HACKJAM hackathon has been an exciting demonstration of some of the top teams developing in decentralized gaming,” said Daiki Moriyama, director of Oasys. “The Oasys ecosystem experienced amazing growth over this past year. We are overjoyed to have these amazing projects developing on Oasys Chain and our connected Verses and are looking forward to watching them deploy and evolve.”

The teams that demonstrated exceptional creativity in both their ideas and implementation were given a total of 7 prizes across several categories by Oasys and the other hackathon sponsors. These teams developed new use cases across verticals, such as blockchain games, Web3 applications, and liquidity provision, to increase the adoption of Oasys as the chain on which the future of gaming is built.

Here is the list of top prize winners for the Oasys Tokyo HACKJAM 2023 Hackathon:

Loot Adventure and dinomarker received the Grand Prize and invitations to attend Demo Day, the first Oasys conference, where they presented their projects. The event not only showcased the potential of the Oasys ecosystem in the gaming sector but also fostered collaboration and innovation within the Web3 community.

Loot Adventure demonstrated immense creativity and token sustainability with a game for the MCH Verse that boasts character enhancement through Web3 Activities History to accumulate value in the NFTs that users own and play with. In the MCH Verse, using the blockchain game ‘Loot by rogue,’ the Loot NFT obtained is pseudo-walletized using ERC6551 technology, allowing players to equip any NFT or FT and enjoy dungeon exploration and PvP battles. These features together create a world where “the time, money, and passion users invest in the game become their assets.”

dinomarker also focused on building a sustainable economic ecosystem through gaming. The 2D action game transports players to a virtual world where they can advance using blocks and chains to earn rewards. Stage creators are a vital part of the changing world as they design more challenging stages, and receive rewards when players fail. Reward calculations and distribution configurations is decentralized on the Oasys Chain, ensuring equality and fairness.
